It has been my privilege to practice internal medicine in Lake County for more than 30 years. Many of my patients have been with me since the beginning of that journey. Same day or next day visits are available for acute care issues, and non-acute appointments are typically scheduled within a week or less. Extended one-on-one time with Dr. McLain ensures your concerns are fully heard and addressed. Telemed visits are available when appropriate, and you have direct phone and messaging access to Dr. McLain 24/7 for follow-up issues.

Your medical record is kept strictly confidential and will never be shared with insurance companies or outside parties without your explicit consent, except as required by law. This means your health information stays between you and Dr. McLain. You can seek care and speak openly, knowing your personal health details remain private.

Each year, you'll receive a thorough executive physical designed to give you a complete picture of your health. The exam goes beyond standard checkups to include longevity education and personalized counseling. Basic in-office testing — including blood, urine, EKG, flu, COVID-19, and strep tests — is also available, giving you convenient access to essential diagnostics in one place.

When specialist care is needed, you'll have full access to referrals at leading health systems. Patients have preferred access to top-tier sub-specialty care at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital and Northshore / Endeavor Health System, while retaining the freedom to choose a hospital where they already have established relationships.
